Privacy policy

The central promise is simple: fonts selected in the preview tool are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us.

Plain-language summary

Your font bytes, file name, preview text, glyph selections, font metadata, and generated CSS are not sent to our servers or to Google Analytics.

We use Cloudflare to deliver the website and Google Analytics 4 to understand broad usage patterns. If you email us, we receive the information in your message. The sections below explain each data flow.

How local font processing works

When you choose a WOFF2, WOFF, OTF, or TTF file, the browser reads the file into memory. The browser FontFace API renders it, and Fontkit reads supported tables to show glyphs, variation axes, metrics, features, names, and other metadata.

  • There is no font-upload API in this website.
  • The file is not copied to our hosting, database, logs, or analytics.
  • The file name and extracted metadata stay in the current page.
  • Reloading or closing the page removes the in-memory font from the tool.

Your browser or operating system may independently keep temporary memory or cache as part of normal operation. We do not control that local browser behavior.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure site traffic and whether broad product interactions are useful. GA4 may receive information such as the page URL, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and identifiers used by Google Analytics. GA4 may set or read analytics cookies or similar storage.

Our implementation may send coarse events such as:

  • a supported format and non-identifying file-size bucket was loaded;
  • a workspace tab, comparison, waterfall, or preset was used;
  • a variable-axis tag or OpenType feature tag was adjusted;
  • glyph search, CSS copy, print, or feedback intent was used.

We configure analytics to disable Google signals and advertising personalization. We do not intentionally send font bytes, local file names, family or font names, preview text, characters, Unicode values, metadata, CSS content, or error messages containing user data.

Google acts as a separate service provider and processes analytics data under its own terms and privacy documentation. You can block analytics with browser privacy controls, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out tools.

Cloudflare hosting and security logs

Cloudflare delivers this static website, DNS, and security services. Like most web infrastructure, Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps, network diagnostics, and security signals. This is separate from the browser-local font operation.

We use those services to make the site available, detect abuse, and troubleshoot reliability. We do not add font content or preview content to request URLs.

Messages you send us

If you email hello@woff2fontpreview.com or support@woff2fontpreview.com, we receive your email address, message, headers, and anything you choose to attach. The feedback form opens your email application; it does not submit the text to this site.

Please do not attach a proprietary font unless you have permission and actually want us to receive it. A font is not needed for most bug reports.

Retention

Local font data is not retained by us. Analytics retention is controlled in the GA4 property and may include aggregated reports. Infrastructure logs are retained according to Cloudflare settings and security needs. Support email is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer, maintain a useful record, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

  • Do not choose a font file if you do not want the browser to process it.
  • Reload the page to clear the current in-memory font.
  • Use browser settings or a content blocker to limit analytics storage.
  • Do not include personal or proprietary information in support messages.
  • Contact us to ask about or request deletion of a support conversation you sent.

Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. We will respond to a verifiable request as required by applicable law.

Children and sensitive information

This developer and design utility is not directed to children. Do not send sensitive personal information through feedback or email.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the tool, analytics, hosting, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the current version.
